A major international
competition winner, Minat enjoys a busy performing schedule as a soloist and
chamber musician, and as a member of the London Symphony Orchestra,
which she joined whilst still an undergraduate at the Royal College of Music. She regularly tours Europe, the United States and the Far
East, and records and broadcasts for television and radio.
Minat combines her
performing career with postgraduate studies as an Amaryllis Fleming scholar at
the RCM, where she has won all the prizes for cello, including the Ivor James,
Helen Just, Wills Gordan, Thelma Reiss, Stuart Knussen and Anna Shuttleworth
Prizes. She has also been awarded scholarships by the Philharmonia
Orchestra/Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, the English Speaking Union, and the
Arts and Humanities Research Council.
In addition to her solo
work, Minat is a committed chamber musician. She performs widely with her own
ensemble, Trio Orfeo, and has also collaborated with the Bochmann and Sacconi
String Quartets.
Minat plays a fine Amati
cello on generous loan from the Royal College of Music and the Balmain
Charitable Trust.
